Missing Crossfield woman died in crash: RCMP

The search for a woman missing from Crossfield has come to a sad end.

Airdrie RCMP say the body of 34-year-old Heather Brownlees was found inside her vehicle that was involved in a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Range Road 292 and Township Road 285. Police say the vehicle was located down an embankment and was not visible to traffic.

The investigation is being assisted by an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist who attended the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary.

Brownlees was last seen Jan. 31 at her Crossfield home.
