Abbey Centre programs made more accessible with drop-in option

Centrally located in Alberta, the Abbey Centre is a premier fitness facility that is accessible for users of all ages.

Users come from all across Alberta to access the facilities and programs we offer. This is a great benefit to local residents and visitors alike. 

“The Abbey Centre offers programs and classes in various activities and for users of all levels. To further enhance the experience, the Town of Blackfalds has devised a couple of new ways for users to access programs and activities offered in the over 41,000 sq. ft. of indoor recreational opportunities,” says Rick Kreklewich, Abbey Centre General Manager.

1. The first perk is for our early birds. You might even say ‘the early bird registration gets the reward! Users can save 40% when they pre-register for fitness classes! Starting December 1, 2018, when a member pre-registers for a 5/6-week fitness program session, they will only pay $6 per class. The offer ends two (2) days before the start of the fitness program. Members can also guarantee their spot by registering early and receive their discount. 

2. Another Perk For Abbey Centre Members! Members can now drop in to any eligible fitness class at no charge! To further ensure that our programs are running when users want to access them, we will offer a drop-in option as well. Starting January 1, 2019, fitness classes will no longer be cancelled due to low enrollment. Guests will now be able to drop-in to a variety* of fitness classes with the purchase of a punch or day pass.

So come join us in Blackfalds. Explore the tunnels and slides in the 3-story indoor playground, or treat yourself to a quick bite at the concession after you work out in the state-of-the-art fitness centre while your kids are cared for by child minding.

Get away from the elements and take advantage of the 152 metre running track on the 3rd level, overlooking the activities in the triple gymnasium field house. Avid runners, walkers & cyclists will appreciate that the Abbey Centre is the only place in Canada where the Trans Canada Trail travels indoors (entrance on 2nd level).

In the summer months, cool off and have fun in the sun at the outdoor aquatic centre, plan a picnic in the park, let the little ones discover the dinosaurs in the playground, or take in the entertainment at the outdoor amphitheatre.
