Dec 3, 2018 | 1:48 PM

Newcomers to Red Deer will once again have the chance to partake in one of Canada’s greatest activities this winter.

Central Alberta Refugee Effort (CARE), in partnership with The City of Red Deer, is hosting three Learn to Skate sessions.

The schedule is as follows:

January 2 from 1:00-3:00 at Servus Credit Union Arena

January 3 from 1:00-3:00 at Bower Ponds

January 4 from 1:00-3:00 at the Riverside Meadows outdoor rink (6021 57 Ave) – includes shinny and basic hockey skills

This is the seventh year in which CARE has put on Learn to Skate, and participants are typically joined by members of the RCMP. Other partners include Red Deer Pond Hockey, St. John Ambulance, Riverside Meadows Community Association, and Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School.

If you’d like to volunteer or are looking for more information, contact CARE at 403-346-8818 and ask for Avery Acheson or Qabas Al-Sammarraie.
