October building permits values far exceed 2017 numbers

RED DEER- Building permits continued to rise in October, with values more than double those in October 2017.

Building permit values last month exceeded $33 million, compared to $15.7 million in October 2017.

Year-to-date building permits have reached a total value of $201 million so far in 2018, compared to $112.8 million by this time in 2017.

Notable permits for October include: a $20 million permit for a two-storey expansion on the east side of Bower Mall, a $3 million permit for an expansion to the Transit building at Civic Yards; and a permit, valued at $1.4 million, for interior improvements at 6327- 50 Avenue.
