Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: October 18-25

Here is the report from the Drayton Valley RCMP Detachment for the week of Oct. 18-25.

October 18

8:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Dunn Right Communications – Da.m.age to Property – Report of da.m.age to fence sometime overnight.  Fence was ripped down.  Matter is under investigation.

10:06 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Servus Credit Union – Hit and Run – Report of hit and run to the ATM pilon sign sometime overnight.  Sign is da.m.age, but no da.m.age to building.  Under investigation.

11:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Rotary Park –  Disturbance – Report of an aggressive male at the tennis courts, trying to pick a fight.  Members attended and located a youth, youth calmed down after being spoken to.

2:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Fountain Tire – Suspicious person – Report of a female on the side of the highway appears to be in distress, member attended, female was gone upon arrival. 

October 19

3:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 47 Avenue –   Theft – Report of abandoned copper wire. Member attended and seized wire. 

6:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 45 Avenue – suspicious person – Report of a suspicious person looking in their window.  Tall, blonde hair, tattoo on neck wearing a dark jacket and white tank top.  Member patrolled area with negative results.

9:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Canadian Tire – Theft – Report of the fence to the tire compound was cut.  Used batteries were stolen.

12:28 p.m. – Cynthia – Theft – Report of theft of battery and ground wire from lease site.

4:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Greenwood Trailer Court – Assault – Report of an assault.  Members attended one male arrested and held for hearing.  Released on conditions.

10:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley , Fas Gas – Shoplifting – Report of a male wearing a red jacket stole $20 and lottery tickets. 

October 20

1:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Derrick Lounge – Threats – Report of an unwanted male uttering threats.  Male had been banned from location.  Members attended and removed unwanted male. 

8:58 A.M. – Hwy 22, TWP RD 502 – Animal Call – Report of two moose on side of road.  One  was limping.  Members patrolled, moose not located.

10:40 a.m. – Brazeau County – Fraud – Report of a male being sca.m.med out of money.  Money has been sent to Florida. 

1:01 p.m. – Brazeau county, RR 83 – Break and Enter – Report of a Break and Enter to a residence which has been foreclosed on by the bank.  Side door da.m.aged and two windows broken.

October 22

8:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 50 Avenue – Theft from vehicle – Report of unknown persons broke window on 2012 Dodge and stole cheque book. 

11:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 48 Street – Theft from vehicle – Report of theft of fuel card and keys from work truck. 

11:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 54 Street – Suspicious vehicle – Report of a suspicious white cargo van in parking lot.  Persons left a 16 foot 1 x 4 under the ra.m.p and unscrewed the light bulb

7:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley, CHIMO Place –Da.m.age to property –  Report of a male kicked in the door da.m.aging it.  Male wearing a dark hoodie, left on a bike.

8:39 p.m. – Brazeau County, HWY 22 – Impaired Driving – Report of an impaired driver in a black GMC truck.  Traffic stop conducted, driver arrested.  Complainant would not provide statement.  Suspect released on traffic ticket.

October 23

12:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 44 Street – Suspicious person – Complainant reported hearing neighbours car alarm going off, observed a male running on 44 St wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.   Members patrolled the area with negative results.

5:29 a.m. – Lodgepole – Theft of fuel – complainant reports a male and female in a dark blue new Dodge Caravan stole two jerry cans full of fuel. 

7:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 55A Street – Break and Enter – Report of a break and enter to Connect Automation.  Suspects broke into the office and stole three laptops.

9:09 a.m. – Brazeau County, HWY 621 – Take vehicle without consent – Vehicle located on Hwy 621 by Pembina bridge.  One male sleeping inside.  Vehicle had been reported stolen from Rocky Mountain House area.  Male arrested and held for bail hearing.

11:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Best Western Hotel – Take vehicle without consent – Suspicious vehicle parked by garbage bins.  Members attended, 2 occupants, members contacted the registered owner who advised that the vehicle was to have been returned the previous Saturday.   Driver did not have permission to have the vehicle.  Vehicle towed, One female and male arrested.

11:03 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Country Style Trailer Court – Theft – Report of theft of license plate off 1994 GMC Black Sierra Truck.

8:24 p.m. – Parkland county, RR 55 – Theft of fuel – Report of theft of fuel and keys from farm truck. 

October 24

9:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley, 48A Street – Theft from vehicle- report of theft from truck.  Suspects stole a shotgun, Garmin Trail Finder, Machete, case of spare keys, phone charger, ear phones binoculars and tools. 

1:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley, Thrift Store – Traffic Violation – Report of a vehicle being driven with a baby on the lap of the driver.  Vehicle went from Thrift store to McDonalds. Member spoke with violator and explained the severity of the offence

1:47 p.m. – Parkland County – Theft of truck – Report of theft of Red 1995 1 tonne single wheel Hydrodeck flat deck with hydraulic arms and air compressor.  Stolen from field

3:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley, 45 Street – Suspicious person -= Report of a suspicious male wearing a white ca.m.o jacket walking through the yards in the area.  Members patrolled the area however could not locate anyone matching the description.

October 25

3:32 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Independent Grocery – Assault – Report of approximately 4 males fighting in the back alley.  One was knocked to the ground, the others took off in a black truck.

4:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley, Econo Rest – Disturbance – Report of a female yelling, ranting.  Members attended and located female who is known to police.  Advised to quieten down.
