Ardene bringing megastore to Parkland Mall

Another large chunk of retail space at Parkland Mall is about to be filled.

Women’s fashion retailer Ardene is building a megastore in the former Sport Chek location on the mall’s east side.

The megastore will occupy over 16,000 square feet, which is 6.5 times the size of Ardene’s current store at the mall.

Dan Hachey, District General Manager for Parkland Mall, says Winners opening a new store at the mall in the New Year is spurring interest from other national retailers.

“We’re excited about these announcements and will have more to come,” he notes.

Hachey says Parkland Mall is now at about 86 per cent occupancy, with further negotiations for new tenants currently underway.

“We don’t have any more deals to announce, but we’re very encouraged with the way discussions are going.

“National retailers always look at Alberta as a long-term, strong retail place. We’re just thankful that the economy is on a positive trend and national retailers are starting to jump on that.”

The new Ardene megastore at Parkland Mall is expected to open in Spring 2019.
