Buck Lake BBQ explosion sends man to hospital

A man in his 70s was taken to University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton Tuesday night following a barbeque explosion near Buck Lake, about 47 kilometres south of Drayton Valley.

Officials with STARS air ambulance were dispatched to the scene at 5:43 p.m. where they found the man suffering from burn-related injuries.

According to STARS, the Buck Lake Fire Department and EMS were already on scene when they arrived, adding the victim was ultimately taken by ground ambulance to hospital.

No word at this point as to the man’s condition.
