Council approves new Business Licence Bylaw
RED DEER- City Council has approved a new Business Licence Bylaw that will require all businesses operating in The City of Red Deer to obtain a business licence.
The new Business Licence Bylaw creates a balanced environment for all business owners and allows for either annual renewable licences or short-term licences, depending on the business’ needs.
“The previous Licence Bylaw only allowed licensing of specific types of businesses, while other businesses operated with an Occupancy Permit,” said Erin Stuart, Inspections & Licensing Manager. “The new bylaw ensures fair and equitable treatment for all businesses.”
The new bylaw also includes simplified definitions and business categories, a simple fee structure, and reduces unnecessary provisions specific to regulated businesses.
