Rebels pot six in pre-season victory over Edmonton
There were goals aplenty in the Red Deer Rebels’ first kick at the can in WHL pre-season action at the Enmax Centrium Friday night.
Red Deer battled to a 6-5 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings, who along with the Calgary Hitmen and Kootenay Ice, are in town for an exhibition tournament this weekend.
“There were moments where we were better than others, but it’s the first game of the exhibition season, so some guys hadn’t played together,” said head coach Brent Sutter after the game. “Both teams obviously have a lot of young kids in their lineups. It’s good to see how guys handle certain things.”
Red Deer got on the board first, Colin Paradis scoring just five minutes in.
