Thompson’s Pro Mazda title hopes end, will test Indy Lights
Dreams of a Pro Mazda championship are now out of reach for Parker Thompson after another disappointing weekend at the race track.
Going in to the double-header at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois, and ahead of the final two races of the season at the end of the month, the Red Deer native needed a win to close the points gap between himself and the competitor in first.
However, more electrical problems sent that plan off course.
“What started out as probably one of the best starts to a championship that you can have, ended up really falling apart, and it’s funny when you look back at a season like this because we have had so much bad luck,” says Thompson.
