Alberta’s police watchdog says a sawed-off rifle was found inside a vehicle after an Edmonton police officer shot and killed a 30-year-old man in the driver’s seat over the weekend.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team says in a news release that a man in the passenger seat surrendered and exited the stolen vehicle.
But it says as the officer approached, there was a confrontation with the man sitting behind the steering wheel.
The release says the officer took cover while the second officer fired.
