Blackfalds celebrates Denise Nielsen Memorial Park

The Town of Blackfalds invites everyone to come celebrate the Grand Opening of Blackfalds’ newest community park, and enjoy a free BBQ!

Festivies are this Saturday, Aug. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wadey Centre (4400 South Street).

This park pays tribute to long-time resident and dedicated community volunteer, Denise Nielsen, and will provide residents and visitors witha scenic rest area to relax, picnic, watch activities in All-Star Park, and more. 

The Denise Nielsen Memorial Park has been brought about by the Blackfalds District Agricultural Society, with support from the Co-op Community Spaces Program and the Town of Blackfalds. Park amenities include the Co-op Community Gazebo, picnic area, memorial bench, trees and flower beds.
