Reg Warkentin latest to vie for UCP nod in Red Deer – North
Another name has come forward in the race for the UCP nomination in Red Deer – North ahead of next spring’s provincial election.
Reg Warkentin, the policy and advocacy manager with the Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce, says the constituency needs strong representation which will fight for hospital expansion, eliminating the carbon tax and tackling mental illness.
“It’s with great excitement, enthusiasm and energy that I announce my bid to seek the UCP nomination for Red Deer – North. To me there is no greater or more important way to serve our community than making meaningful improvements to the lives and livelihoods of Albertans,” Warkentin says.
“Every day I’ve heard the harmful impact our current government’s policies have had on Albertans. Through the Carbon Tax, the NDP has raised the cost of living and doing business while exacerbating the effects of the worst recession to hit Alberta in a generation. The results are fewer high-paying jobs and many Red Deer – North families worse off than they were four years ago.”
