Police investigating Penhold truck fire
An RCMP investigation is underway after a truck was destroyed by fire near Penhold on Monday.
The Penhold Fire Department was dispatched just after 11 a.m. to a reported vehicle on fire at the intersection of Highway 42 and Range Road 275.
Crews arrived to find a truck under some trees, fully-involved with two nearby trees on fire.
“The whole front of the vehicle was involved and [the fire was] rapidly spreading to the trees,” said Penhold Acting Fire Lieutenant Jamie Southwell. “We aggressively attacked the fire with two hose lines to prevent it from getting more into the trees.”
