Town looking to federal grants to spill cash for new pool
The Town of Drayton Valley is making waves in its pursuit of a new aquatic facility.
On Wednesday Town Council approved an expression of interest letter to the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Grant. The grant is part of the federal government’s Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
The program has allotted $140.6 million to projects in Alberta over the next 10 years. The new facility that has been proposed would be eligible for funding under the program.
Some members of council expressed their excitement with the potential application, with Councillor Eric Butz and Mayor Michael Doerksen looking forward to the movement of the project.
