Brazeau and Yellowhead County hope to be exempt of ICF’s, IDP’s
Brazeau County Council has sent a letter to neighboring Yellowhead County Council in support of exempting the two from an intermunicipal collaboration framework and development plans.
The province of Alberta brought in legislation in April that required municipalities to enter ICF’s or IDP’s with neighboring municipalities.
Brazeau and Yellowhead County share a common border, with Yellowhead County expressing that a Ministerial Order for an exemption should be applied for. The area covered by both counties is “green zone,” and the efforts to create an ICF and IDP would be unnecessary and a waste of resources.
Brazeau County Council shared that opinion, and is sending a letter indicating the same to Yellowhead County Council to support their initiative for the exemption.
