Suspect falls from ceiling into waiting RCMP custody

SPRUCE GROVE- A suspect in a stolen credit card case fell almost directly into the hands of RCMP at a Spruce Grove convenience store this week.

Mounties say a man and a woman who were trying to use the cards fought with the officers who had been called to the business on Monday afternoon.

While one officer struggled with the man, the woman ran to the back of the store and climbed a ladder into the ceiling panels to evade arrest, but her tactic failed when she plunged onto shelving below just as other officers were arriving.

No one was seriously hurt and both suspects are facing charges.
