Commercial development leads big jump in April building permit values

RED DEER- Building permits took a major leap forward in April, with values surpassing April 2017 by more than 250 per cent.

Building permits rose from an estimated $6 million in April 2017 to $21.4 million last month thanks to a few key commercial development permits.

Year-to-date building permits continue to rise in value over 2017 for the first four months of the year in Red Deer.

So far this year, total permits have been valued at $82.3 million compared to $35.4 million last year at this time.
