Calgary police involved in fatal shooting

CALGARY – A man in Calgary is dead after he was shot during what police are calling a confrontation with plainclothes officers.

Police say the man was allegedly armed when the encounter happened late Monday evening in the northeast Bridgeland neighbourhood.

They say he got involved with one of the officers, whose service firearm discharged during the incident.

The man died at the scene, no one else was hurt.
