Calgary police recover stolen Edmonton guitars
CALGARY- Thanks to staff at a Calgary pawn shop, police have recovered four of the five guitars belonging to the Rock and Roll Society of Edmonton after a suspect tried to pawn them.
The guitars were stolen from the office of the Edmonton charity over the Easter weekend.
CTV reports staff were aware the goods were stolen and stalled the suspect until the arrival of police, who found a receipt from another pawn shop where they believe the fifth missing guitar may be located.
The four Fender Stratocasters and a black-and-white Fender bass guitar had been signed by bands that played the annual Edmonton Rock Music Fest and were to be sold at auction to raise money for a program that helps at-risk youth.
