$5 million reconstruction of Jasper National Park east gate underway
If you are planning on heading to Jasper National Park anytime between now and October, be prepared to give yourself some extra time on the road.
Parks Canada will begin a $5 million construction project on March 27 to reconstruct the east gate on the Yellowhead Highway in Jasper National Park.
The work will be ongoing from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays, excluding long weekends.
There will be two-way traffic (east and westbound) with speed reductions to 50 km/h and 30 km/h in work zones. Work is scheduled to be finished by the end of October.
