A publication ban was issued preventing media from sharing the nature of the charges against MacIntyre. The ban was lifted Feb. 9 following a court challenge from several media outlets.

MacIntyre, 62, is currently out on bail with several conditions that include having no contact with the complainant, no contact with a person under the age of 16 unless a guardian is present, and no working or volunteering in roles that involve contact with someone under the age of 16. He is also not to go within 100 metres of a playground, swimming pool, daycare or school ground. MacIntyre is also prohibited from possessing weapons while off the property where he is residing.
