Viking RCMP investigate fatal crash between train and minivan

VIKING- RCMP were dispatched to a collision involving a minivan and a train at the intersection of Highway 36 and Highway 14 in the Town of Viking on November 1, at approximately 1:00 p.m.

The van was travelling southbound on Highway 36 when it crossed into the path of a westbound train.

The lone occupant of the vehicle, a 49-year-old man from Viking, was transported to local hospital but was pronounced deceased shortly afterwards.

All lights and crossing arms were activated in the roadway at the time of the collision.
