A false alarm led to what was a rather visible police presence in south Red Deer late Wednesday morning.
City Mounties were called to the Taco Time restaurant at Gaetz Avenue and 33 Street at around noon.
A spokesperson tells rdnewsNOW that RCMP responded to an unfounded report of someone the caller believed may have a firearm.
Upon their arrival, police determined that the item in question was in fact an electronic device and that there was no risk to public safety.
