Two-year sentence for attack on Red Deer taxi driver

A young man charged after a taxi driver in Red Deer was assaulted late last year will spend the next two years behind bars.
It was on the afternoon of Nov. 17, 2016 when police say a man called for a cab and was picked up at the Mac’s convenience store on Ross Street.
Once inside the cab, the man threatened the driver with a knife and demanded money. The driver pulled over at a nearby gas station and got out of the vehicle unharmed. The suspect drove away in the cab before abandoning it nearby.
Anthony Csordas, 20, was charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon.
