Calgary man killed in rig accident near Consort

CONSORT – RCMP were called to a workplace accident at approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday at a drilling site northwest of Consort.

A 35-year-old man from Calgary died at the scene.

Police say, early indications suggest that the worker was fatally injured during a pressure test at the drill site.

Occupational Health and Safety investigators have taken over the investigation.

The name of the victim or the company he worked for have not been released.
