Lacombe Police release Enhanced Alberta Check Stop results

LACOMBE-  On June 10, Lacombe Police Service members in conjunction with Alberta Sheriffs conducted roadside check stops at various locations in Lacombe as part of the Enhanced Alberta Check Stop Program.

During a 10 hour period, a total of 450 vehicles were stopped and checked.

The results are as follows:

–  One driver was charged with Impaired Driving.

–  One driver was charged with failing to provide a breath sample.

–  Two drivers were issued  24 hour driving suspensions.

–  Two vehicles were seized as per the Alberta Immediate Roadside Sanctions.

–  Five offences were identified under the Gaming and Liquor Act.

–  Nineteen violation tickets / written warnings were also issued.

–  Two individuals were arrested who were found to be wanted on outstanding warrants.

The Enhanced Alberta Check stop Program is a joint force operation between the Alberta Government and Alberta Police Services with funding from the province.

During these check stops Police Officers are specifically dedicated to removing impaired drivers from Alberta roads.
