Two charged following robbery in Riverside Meadows
Charges have been laid after an attempted robbery Friday in Riverside Meadows ended with two men being arrested by city Mounties.
Red Deer RCMP responded at about 9 a.m. to a report of a disturbance in the area of 60 Street and 54 Avenue.
Police say two men attempted to rob a male victim while he was stopped in his vehicle at a red light on 60 Street.
Officers located the suspects sitting on the grounds of the nearby Koinonia Christian School. One suspect surrendered immediately when placed under arrest. The second suspect resisted arrest, engaging in a struggle with police officers before being taken into custody. He was assessed on scene by City of Red Deer Emergency Services staff and cleared to be taken into custody.
