Lacombe’s Big Brothers Big Sisters receives Rec and Culture grant

LACOMBE- The City of Lacombe’s Recreation and Culture Manager Sandi Stewart joined Chris Ross, Vice Chair of the Lacombe & District Recreation, Parks & Culture Board at the Gord Bamford House to present a $2000 Recreation and Culture Grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Lacombe & District for their new Match Recreation Room and Activity Centre.

BBBS has 52 matches that will have free space and activities available to them on Wednesdays from 6-8pm at the Bamford House.

Activities will consist of building projects, art projects, painting classes, gardening and other life skills activities. 

The City of Lacombe has provided funds to facilitate initiatives identified in the Recreation and Culture Master Plan to be pursued through a grant program.
