2017 Women of Excellence celebrated at awards gala

Twelve outstanding women from across Central Alberta received the Women of Excellence Award at the Sheraton in Red Deer Wednesday night.

More than 350 guests turned out for the 10th annual awards gala hosted by the Red Deer and District Community Foundation.

“All of our award recipients came from diverse backgrounds, sectors and age groups but are similar in their exceptional contribution in making Central Alberta a better place to live, work and play,” the foundations says.

2017 Women of Excellence Awards winners:

Community Building (ATCO) – Susan Samson, Sylvan Lake

The Women of Excellence Awards Program honours women who have been role models to women and girls in our community. Proceeds from raffle draws and silent auction draws at the awards gala go directly to the Women and Girls Fund, which aims to support projects that benefit women and girls in the community.
