Red Deer County is making nearly $30,000 available for Canada 150 celebrations.
The county says local community groups can apply to them for up to $1000.
Anyone wishing to apply can contact the county’s Community Services department or visit rdcounty.ca between now and June 30.

At their meeting on Tuesday, county council awarded a $1,3 million contract for upgrades and expansion to the Delburne Arena.
Shunda Construction was the winning bidder.
The new addition to the rink will include wash bays for livestock, four new dressing rooms and two shared washrooms. It will also include a new Zamboni room and mechanical and electrical spaces.

The county is contributing $75,000 toward Benalto’s historic train station project.
The 1928 CPR station was moved to a site just north of the Benalto Fair Grounds about four years ago.
A local booster club has so far raised over $100,000 and has applied to the province for a $55,000 grant.
When complete, the restored train station will feature a walk-out basement to a square that will be used as a skating rink during winter.
The booster group hopes to have the restoration project completed by the end of 2018.
