CALGARY- Police say whoever is responsible for a targeted fatal shooting at a basketball court on Saturday didn’t care about anyone else who may have been in the area.
They also believe there is some criminal association involved with the shooting that killed Rinato Toy and injured three other people.
The 22-year-old man was among 20 people at the court when two masked men approached and opened fire.
Toy was charged with manslaughter after a fatal stabbing during a fight between two groups at the Calgary Stampede fairgrounds two years ago, but the Crown stayed the charge because there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction.
