New murder trial dates set for fatal 2015 stabbing in Red Deer

New trial dates have been set for a man charged in a fatal stabbing in north Red Deer 18 months ago.

Daniel Boyd Sawyer, 32, is charged with second degree murder in the November 18, 2015 incident that resulted in the death of Allan Beach.

The 31-year-old passed away from injuries he suffered after being stabbed in the Village Mall parking lot near the Blarney Stone pub.

Sawyer was originally scheduled to stand trial last summer. However, the trial was delayed as Sawyer’s defence lawyer was still seeking additional disclosure from the Crown.
