Two Southern Alberta teens killed in crash with a semi

COALDALE- RCMP are investigating a fatal crash involving a semi and a pickup truck on Thursday afternoon that killed two teen boys.

The collision occurred at a rural gravel intersection near Coaldale.

The semi was travelling westbound when the pickup heading southbound slammed broadside into the trailer.

The impact caused the semi and trailer to be flipped at least once.

The 17 year old driver of the pickup and a 14 year old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both teens were from the Taber area.

The 25 year old man driving the semi sustained non-life threatening injuries.

At the time of the collision the weather was sunny with clear visibility.

The north and south sides of the intersection have yield signs posted.
