A local ringette team is back from competing at the Canadian Ringette Championships in Winnipeg last week.

Tha Lacombe Generals are off to the 2018 Allan Cup final in Rosetown, Saskatchewan Saturday night following a 4-1 victory of the Elsipogtog Hawks in semi-final action Friday evening.

For the fourth year-in-a-row and ninth time over the past 11 years, the Lacombe Generals are off to the Allan Cup final.

This after a 4-1 victory over the Elsipogtog Hawks in semi-final action in Rosetown, Saskatchewan Friday night.

Exelta Gymnastics in Red Deer is hosting the 2018 Artistic & Acrobatic Provincial Championships at the Collicutt Centre April 13 - 15. The competition is also a test event for the 2019 Canada Winter Games and features over 700 of the top young gymnasts from all over Alberta.

Over 700 of the top young gymnasts in Alberta have converged on Red Deer for this year’s Artistic and Acrobatic Provincial Championships.

The 15th Annual Western Canada Sledge Hockey Tournament, aka, the Matt Cook Memorial Cup is being held in Red Deer from March 30 - April 1. Roughly 200 players and 15 teams are taking part with games being played at the Collicutt and Kinsmen A Arenas.
