UPDATE: RCMP say missing teen found deceased, but death deemed not criminal

In a sad update, RCMP say a teenager from Maskwacis has been found deceased.

Jalaine Potts, 17, was reported missing from Maskwacis on May 14, 2023.

On Tuesday, police said she was located passed away, but added that the manner of her death has been deemed not criminal.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends,” RCMP say.

Potts had last been seen May 13 on Montana First Nation in Maskwacis.
