Red Deer with 166 active cases of COVID-19, adds two more deaths

There are 166 active cases of COVID-19 in Red Deer, down 27 from Monday.

Recoveries increased by 29 to 9,030 with the total number of cases identified in the city since the start of the pandemic now being 9,277 – up four over the past day.

Red Deer’s active case rate is currently 156.0 per 100k, which compares to a rate of 86.1 in Calgary, 71.1 in Edmonton, and 155.0 in Lethbridge.

The number of COVID-related deaths in Red Deer increased by two over the past day to 81.

CENTRAL ZONE

The Central Zone as a whole now has 913 active cases as of Tuesday, down 78 from Monday. There are 117 hospitalizations, up five from Monday, with nine people receiving intensive care at Red Deer Regional Hospital, up one from Monday.

The Central Zone has had 385 deaths linked to COVID-19, with five more reported on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, the Calgary Zone has 1,785 active cases of COVID-19, the Edmonton Zone 1,202, the North Zone 1,160, the South Zone 498, and seven additional cases in unconfirmed locations.

Across Alberta, 321 new cases of COVID-19 were identified over the past day, bringing the total number of active cases in the province now to 5,565 – down 263 from Monday.

With 6,425 tests conducted over the past day, the province’s test positivity rate is roughly 4.9 per cent.

There are 2,144 active variant cases in the province or 38.5 per cent of all active cases.

VACCINATIONS

As of Nov. 15, a total of 6,730,737 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta, up 13,730 over the past day.

Across the province, 87.9 per cent of eligible Albertans aged 12+ have received at least one dose (74.8% total population), with 82.3 per cent of those eligible now fully vaccinated (70.0% total population).

In Red Deer, 73,511 (80.1% of eligible & 69.0% *total population) people have received at least one dose, up 80 over the past day.

Meanwhile, 69,312 (75.6%/65.1%) are fully vaccinated with two doses, up 157 over the past day.
