Red Deer photo radar locations: Aug 1 – 31

Jul 30, 2019 | 2:05 PM

Red Deer RCMP are giving local motorists the heads-up as to where they can expect to find photo radar throughout the city next month.

City officials say Automated Traffic Enforcement will be operating in areas where speeding has been identified as a community concern; there has been an identifiable, documented history of collisions; a high volume of pedestrians; and areas where conventional enforcement is ineffective or unsafe.

Photo radar locations with mobile units from Aug. 1 – 31 include Oriole Park, Johnstone, Kentwood, Fairview, West Park, Grandview, Mountview, Sunnybrook, South Hill, Deer Park, Rosedale, Eastview, Clearview and Timberlands.

Mobile units are anticipated to be operating along Gaetz Avenue, 49 Avenue, Highway 11A, Highway 2A, 39 Street, 67 Street, Burnt Park Drive and Edgar Industrial Drive.

Drivers are also reminded of Intersection Safety Device Cameras located at Gaetz Avenue and 32 Street, 30 Avenue and 32 Street, Gaetz Avenue and 67 Street and 30 Avenue and Ross Street.

The City of Red Deer’s Automated Traffic Enforcement Program includes photo laser, red light cameras and intersection speed cameras.

These tools, along with conventional traffic enforcement and education campaigns are said to help make Red Deer’s roads safer and by reducing speed, both the number and severity of collisions is reduced.

Please note, RCMP reserve the right to change the site locations without notice.
