RCMP seek public assistance in locating wanted male

UPDATE [Jan. 3] RCMP say Whitford has been arrested and is scheduled to appear in court today. 


Rocky Mountain House RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 25-year-old male.

Jamie Jerome Whitford has a warrant out for his arrest following an incident which occurred on December 18. 

RCMP say at 7:15 p.m. they received a report of a disturbance at a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation involving a gunshot.  Several people were inside the residence and fortunately no one was harmed during this incident.

RCMP responded and located the suspect male driving a black Chevrolet pickup truck.  Efforts were made to conduct a traffic stop, however, the male fled and the RCMP did not pursue. 

Whitford is facing charges including firearms charges, assault with a weapon and disobeying an order of court.

RCMP say they believe Whitford is in possession of a firearm, and caution is urged if anyone is in contact with him. 

Whitford is described as:

          -5’9” tall / 140 lbs
          -Short brown hair / brown eyes

He was last seen driving a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with an Alberta license of BWZ 2117.
