Kris Maciborsky moved to Red Deer 2001 to attend RDC to take Rehabilitation Services.

She fell in love with the city and hasn’t left since. Now Maciborsky wants to serve Red Deer as a member of City Council.

Maciborsky has spent time with various non-profit organizations and said at the Oct. 4 candidate forum she has worked to help people with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, addictions, in the LGBTQ community, those with low incomes, and the homeless.

“I want to be a voice for them on Council,” she said. “I also want to be a voice for north Red Deer and to get some more things there. We have more liquor stores than grocery stores and I think some things need to change.”

In a detailed post on her Facebook page, Maciborsky says her platform is built on the following priorities – seeking crime and drug prevention strategies, low income housing and homelessness, community inclusion, and snow management strategies.
