Red Deer Catholic schools to participate in Winter Walk Day

On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 schools throughout the Red Deer Catholic Regional Division will participate in Winter Walk Day.

This annual event encourages people across Alberta to be active outdoors in winter. 

Below is a list of participating schools:

         École Camille J. Lerouge School, Red Deer
         École Our Lady of the Rosary School, Sylvan Lake
         Holy Family School, Red Deer
         St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, Blackfalds
         St. Martin de Porres School, Red Deer
         St. Patrick's Community School, Red Deer
         St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School, Red Deer

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools is committed to a comprehensive school health approach that promotes health, well-being, and the ability to learn by supporting healthy eating and physical activity.

“We want to encourage people to be active outdoors, not just in the summer, but in the winter too!” says Health and Wellness Coordinator, Char Andrew at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools.

“We feel this day is beneficial because it teaches students to be physically literate in all the seasons that Alberta offers.”
