“We are excited for members of our community to meet our team and learn more about our quality programs in the School of Continuing Education,” says Rodney Holt, Associate Dean School of Continuing Education. “This is a great opportunity to explore all that RDC has to offer and we look forward to talking with prospective students.”

The Health Care Aide Certificate is one program that will be featured at the 6:30 p.m. session, and it is designed to meet the needs of learners, communities and industry. Building on the success of the program offerings in Drumheller, Stettler and Rocky Mountain House through RDC’s partnership with Campus Alberta Central, RDC is pleased to introduce the Health Care Aide Certificate in Red Deer. The first intake for this cohort will begin April 8, 2019.

“The Health Care Aide Certificate at Red Deer College is a flexible program in which students do much of their course work as it fits into their daily schedule. Learners will also attend labs where they will further develop their caregiving skills in person,” says Leanne LaBrash, Program Coordinator School of Continuing Education. “It is a great combination for central Alberta students who want to go to school and have other life responsibilities.”

Following the Health Care Aide Government of Alberta Provincial Curriculum, students will learn
through online classes, face-to-face labs and two placements in their community. RDC’s Health Care
Aide Certificate will adequately prepare students for a range of health-care settings with a strong
foundation of knowledge and skills, providing basic health services and daily living support for clients
with complex medical conditions, physical and cognitive disabilities, and palliative care.
