Soroptimist Dream It Be It mother daughter event happening Feb. 2

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is hosting a free event for mothers and their daughters next month.

The Mother Daughter/Dream It Be It conference is happening 10-4 on Feb. 2 in the Margaret Parsons Theatre at Red Deer College.

Daughters aged 10-18 are welcome to attend.

There will be a keynote speech from Amy Roscoe, a Soroptimist from Chilliwack, BC, who will presenting her workbook ‘Be Your Own Superhero’ for all the attendees in the afternoon.

There will be other presentations about social media, cannabis, finances and budgeting, career counselling and help with job searching and doing interviews.

On March 7, local Soroptimists are hosting the International Women’s Day awards dinner. There, the winners of the Live Your Dream awards, the Violet Richardson award, and the Ruby award will be presented.

As well, there will be a guest speaker – Calgary police officer Tad Milmine – who’ll be speaking about the website he founded, BullyingEndsHere.ca.
