AHS seeks new members for Wisdom Council

EDMONTON – Alberta Health Services (AHS) is currently seeking Indigenous Albertans to become members of the Wisdom Council. 

The council provides guidance and recommendations to AHS on service delivery, program design, and evaluation for provincewide, culturally appropriate health services delivered by AHS to Indigenous Peoples. Wisdom Council members serve terms of three years.

The Wisdom Council was established in recognition of the need to deliver culturally appropriate health programs and services for Alberta’s Indigenous Peoples, and to foster stronger relationships between Alberta’s Indigenous communities and AHS. 

The Wisdom Council is comprised of 20 members appointed from across the province who:

– Represent the diverse communities, backgrounds and experiences of Alberta’s Indigenous communities.
– Are passionate about healthcare issues.
– Are interested in supporting the strategic direction and reconciliation efforts of AHS by engaging members of their communities throughout Alberta in a respectful, transparent and accountable manner.

Interested applicants are asked to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) which is available online at http://www.ahs.ca/shapehealthcare, no later than Friday, Nov. 2.
