Nov 7, 2017 | 8:54 AM

RED DEER (Nov. 1) – Join us downtown to celebrate the holiday season with the annual lighting spectacular Red Deer Lights the Night Saturday, November 18. This free, family friendly event is proudly presented by Stantec and hosted by The City of Red Deer, Red Deer Downtown Business Association and Red Deer Public Library.

“We’re looking forward to the return of this annual event, when nature dims her light so we can switch ours on,” said Annette Scheper, Community & Program Facilitator. “It’s wonderful to see the community come together each year to enjoy this special occasion.”

Red Deerians are invited to take a stroll through the twinkling lights in City Hall Park, visit the vendors in the winter market, and cozy up in the warming tent while enjoying free hot chocolate and popcorn. Watch the lighting of the Christmas Holiday Tree followed by a low level fireworks show (weather permitting). There will be crafts and games for the kids and, of course, a visit from Santa!

When: Saturday, November 18, 2017
Where: City Hall Park, Ross Street and Red Deer Public Library
Time: 4 – 7 p.m.

“We’re proud to be a committed partner of this special annual holiday tradition—one that brings families and friends together in celebration of the season,” said Todd Simenson, Stantec Vice President, Regional Leader for Alberta North &Territories. “At Stantec, designing with community in mind is about more than the work we do each day. It’s about investing in the communities, like Red Deer, we call home.”

Free parking is available in Sorenson Station until 8 p.m. Event planners wish to remind Red Deerians that pets are not permitted in City Hall Park or the event site.
