Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation partners with Jumpstart
Lacombe, Alberta – The Gord Bamord Charitable Foundation is proud to announce it’s new partnership with Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program. Gord Bamford’s Foundation mission is to provide funds to youth supporting charities across Canada that involve music, education, health care, sports, and multi-use facilities, so the Jumpstart Program is a natural fit.
This year, Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program will be receiving a $10,000 cheque from the Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation. Jumpstart is about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no child should be left out.
“Sports were a very important part of my life growing up. It’s not until you’re an adult that you realize all of the great lessons you’ve learned though sport. I’d never want to think of any child missing out on that opportunity,” said Bamford.
Bamford’s event, The Gord Bamford Charity Golf Classic, has generated over 2.7 million dollars for children’s charities over it’s decade long history, and this year’s sold out event is shaping up to be the best yet. Over the past year, notable donations include $50,000 to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Lacombe & District, $10,000 to the Music Program at IWK Health Centre Foundation, and $10,000 to the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.
