Mar 17, 2020 | 10:47 AM

Lacombe County has officially activated its’ Emergency Coordination Centre in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are carefully monitoring COVID-19 public health risk for any new developments and will follow protocols laid out by Alberta Health Services’ (AHS),” the county says in a release. “Lacombe County recommends people in the county and urban centres take the same respiratory illness precautions as with every cold and influenza season.”

For the protection of staff and visitors, the county has added hand sanitizing stations at its office to help limit the spread of the virus and other germs. The county office is open for business at this time. However, alternative methods for conducting business with the county include phone (403-782-6601), email (info@lacombecounty.com), online service request portal https://www.lacombecounty.com/index.php?option=com_chronoforms6&chronoform=service-request-complaint-submission-form and the Lacombe County Facebook page.

County officials say alternate working arrangements during the recommended isolation period will be evaluated to ensure business continuity, but at this time they do not anticipate any disruption of municipal services.
