Second home in Mirror destroyed by fire in less than a month

Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Mirror early Sunday morning.

Lacombe County Fire Chief Drayton Bussiere says they received the call around 3:10 a.m. and upon arrival found the single-family home fully engulfed in flames.

AHS officials say the opening of Advanced Ambulatory Care Service at Sylvan Lake's Community Health Centre has been pushed back from May 22 to June 4. Officials say it's due to a supplier's ability to manufacture and install a key piece of air handling equipment.

Alberta Health Services has announced a small delay in the much-anticipated opening of Sylvan Lake’s new Advanced Ambulatory Care Service.

A Transgender Day of Visibility event was held at Red Deer City Hall Park on Saturday to mark Transgender Day of Visibility which is recognized around the world each year on March 31st.

Roughly two dozen people gathered at Red Deer City Hall Park on Saturday to show support for the local transgender community.

The event featured a few informal speeches, including one from Red Deer North MLA Kim Schreiner and a march around City Hall Park.
