Drumheller RCMP investigating hoax bomb threat

DRUMHELLER— RCMP in Drumheller are investigating after a hoax bomb threat was received at a restaurant this weekend.

According to a release on Monday, officers received a complaint about a bomb threat at the McDonald’s restaurant. RCMP attended, closed the restaurant and blocked off the area to conduct an investigation. The RCMP Explosives unit was consulted as well.

Following an investigation, officers determined the threat was a hoax and there was no danger to the public.

RCMP continue to investigate.
