New manager named to Lacombe Regional Waste Services Commission

A new commission manager has been named to the Lacombe Regional Waste Services Commission (LRWSC).

Jay Hohn, who has served with the commission for the last two years as an operator and safety coordinator, previously owned and operated a small waste management company for seven years in central Alberta.

“I am very excited and appreciate the opportunity to become the next manager for the commission,” said Hohn. “I believe in providing and maintaining safe public facilities with an emphasis on environmental responsibility towards waste and recycling management.”

Hohn has a diploma in Environmental Sciences from NAIT. He is originally from Blackfalds.

Hohn replaces Wayne Huston as manager.

The LRWSC is made up of elected representatives from the City of Lacombe, Lacombe County, Town of Eckville, Town of Bentley, Village of Clive, and Village of Alix.

It owns and operates five solid waste facilities within Lacombe County, including transfer sites in Eckville, Bentley, Spruceview, Alix/Mirror, and at Prentiss.
